3 Great Competitors - Huge Wins for Club MMA

First, Club MMA's Nik Hoobler-Scherff was invited to join Team Shawn Hammonds at the Pan American Jiu Jitsu Tournament in California. Nik entered the white beltdivision at 170 lbs. along with over 60 competitors. He won his first two matches to get him to the top 8, losing his third match only by points to the Division Champion. We couldn't be prouder of Nik and his accomplishments. Top 8 in North & South America is an incredible accomplishment!!

Next, Levon "Sacko" Sacket embarked on his journey to the cage. A gi BJJ student, Levon finally stepped up and said he wanted to compete in the cage–on of his bucket list pipe dreams. With a very strong ground game, Levon really needed to focus on improving his standup throughout fight camp. On April 2, 2011 Levon weighed in at 155lbs and faced off against opponent Rayshaun Allen, a seasoned amateur out of Shamrock MMA in Covington. Levon displayed a dominating first round but in the second round took a hard uppercut that landed Levon on his back. He kept his cool and listened to his coaches and overturned his opponent, passed the guard to side control and finished the fight via head
and arm choke. It was a great victory!

Finally, on May 7, 2011 Thomas Deinlein took his turn in the cage. Weighing in at 145lbs Thomas entered the cage cool as a cucumber and his relaxed demeanor payed off! Thomas touched gloves with his opponent blitzed in and got the takedown. He finished the fight in a mere 41 seconds with a knockout ground and pound! It was a great showing for Club MMA!
